Expect the ultimate Tanzania safari experience — ten days covering every key ecosystem of the Northern Circuit. From Tarangire’s baobabs to Serengeti’s sweeping plains and Ngorongoro’s crater floor, you’ll witness a parade of wildlife, breathtaking vistas, and cultural connections.
Accommodations are comfortable and well-located, the drives are scenic, and the pacing ensures you see more without rushing. The cultural stop at Lake Eyasi adds depth, turning a wildlife journey into a truly human experience.
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park. The journey passes through picturesque Maasai steppe landscapes before arriving at the park gates for a full-day game drive.
Tarangire’s river valleys attract herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and other grazers — often stalked by lions and leopards. The park’s signature baobab trees make for stunning photography. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or camp near Tarangire.
After breakfast, continue your safari to Lake Manyara National Park, a jewel nestled beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Explore its lush forests and open floodplains in search of tree-climbing lions, elephants, and countless flamingos.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot, then continue your game drive through the park’s diverse habitats before heading to your lodge near Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro highlands, with scenic stops along the way. Enter the park in time for an afternoon game drive in the Seronera Valley — known for its year-round abundance of big cats.
As the sun sets, continue to your camp or lodge inside the park for dinner and overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Spend the entire day exploring central Serengeti’s rich wildlife areas. The morning drive focuses on predators hunting at dawn, followed by a picnic or lodge lunch and an afternoon exploring hippo pools and kopje formations.
Expect to see lions lounging, cheetahs on the prowl, elephants grazing, and large herds of antelopes moving across the plains. Dinner and overnight at your Serengeti camp.
After breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive heading north toward the Lobo or Kogatende regions (depending on season). This area is quieter, wilder, and excellent for seeing migration herds (June–October).
The rolling hills and riverine valleys provide beautiful backdrops for photography and offer opportunities to spot elusive leopards and cheetahs. Dinner and overnight at a northern Serengeti camp.
Spend another full day in the northern Serengeti, exploring the Mara River region where, in migration season, dramatic wildebeest crossings may occur. Outside migration months, the area remains teeming with resident wildlife and exceptional birdlife.
You can choose a relaxed day in camp, a long photographic drive, or an optional hot-air balloon safari (extra cost). Dinner and overnight at the same northern camp.
After breakfast, enjoy a final Serengeti game drive before beginning your journey toward Ngorongoro. Stop at Olduvai Gorge — the famed “Cradle of Mankind” — to learn about early human history.
Continue to the crater rim, arriving by late afternoon for panoramic views of the world’s largest intact caldera. Dinner and overnight at a lodge on or near the crater rim.
Early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable day of wildlife viewing. The crater floor is home to nearly every major East African species — lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and more.
Enjoy a picnic lunch beside a hippo pool and continue exploring before ascending to the rim in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight near the crater.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi for a day of cultural immersion. Meet the Hadzabe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes, and join them on a short walk or hunting demonstration.
Later, visit the Datoga blacksmiths who skillfully forge metal tools using traditional methods. This enriching day offers a unique perspective on Tanzania’s cultural heritage. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or camp near Lake Eyasi.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning before driving back to Arusha. The scenic return journey passes through small villages and highland farms.
Arrive in Arusha in the afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or airport — concluding The Ultimate Northern Circuit Safari, a journey that captures the true spirit of Tanzania.
